Specializes in replicating high-performance flight environments

Established by ETC in 2007, the NASTAR Center is unique in that it serves as the only commercial-use facility with a High Performance Human Centrifuge for the application of acceleration and G force exposure in the world and specializes in replicating high-performance flight environments and characteristics of aerial vehicles. This exclusive capability is ideal for safely modeling nominal and off-nominal (emergency) trajectories and evaluating human performance for military, commercial aviation, and spaceflight clients. The NASTAR Center actively collaborates with numerous agencies including NASA, FAA, JAA, etc. to promote safety in flight.

Aviation Training Programs

ETC’s The NASTAR Center is the first Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved center able to meet the training requirements for commercial human spaceflight (14 CFR § 460.5). It is recognized as the leader in the development and delivery training for commercial spaceflight and known for its Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) program for commercial aviators.

Research Services

The NASTAR Center’s research-oriented atmosphere offers easy, cost-effective, and flexible access to its unique motion platforms and test environments including temperature, pressure, vibration, acceleration, and multi-axes orientation. Research services include available subjects, operations and medical staff, engineering services, and full service rapid internal Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Training Equipment

The NASTAR Center features a suite of physiology-based aerospace training equipment including: a high-g human centrifuge, spatial disorientation trainers, an ejection seat system, and an altitude chamber, in addition to other training devices. The NASTAR Center's aerospace training simulators and technology provide significant time and cost-savings for training combat pilots, Part 135 and Part 91 pilots, orbital and suborbital crew and participants, and aircrew and ground professionals.

About ETC

Environmental Tectonics Corporation (‘”ETC”), located in Southampton, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1969. ETC designs, manufactures, and sells software driven products and services used to recreate and monitor the physiological effects of motion on humans, and equipment to control, modify, simulate and measure environmental conditions. Our products include aircrew training systems (aeromedical, tactical combat, and general), disaster management systems, sterilizers (steam and gas), environmental testing and simulation systems, and other products that involve similar manufacturing techniques and engineering technologies. ETC’s unique ability to offer complete systems, designed and produced to high technical standards, sets it apart from its competition. You can find ETC products in over 90 countries around the world.
