win a navy blue nastar flight suit like this with your patch sewn on!

for educators – cover letter and student certificate space patch contest flyer

design contest for the new nastar center's suborbital scientist training patch!

Soon Suborbital Space Flights will become a reality. This is significant because these vehicles will provide a low-cost, easy-access way to fly people and experiments in space to altitudes of 70-140 km with several minutes of weightlessness. Researchers, Scientists, Engineers, Teachers and Students now have the opportunity to become "Suborbital Scientists" and personally escort, test, and manipulate experiments in upcoming Space Missions.

suborbital scientist training

NASTAR Center's Suborbital Scientist Training Program is at the cutting edge to prepare Suborbital Scientists for the intense launch and reentry G-forces encountered during suborbital flight, as well how to handle the distraction-filled, time and pressure-cooker environment of flying experiments in a 3-5 minute window of weightlessness. Our first training course starts January 12-13th, 2010; however we don't have an official patch for this course yet!

we need your help...we want you to design our new patch!
