| Hypobaric Chamber |
The hypobaric chamber supports training of personnel in altitude indoctrination flights. This includes pressure breathing exercises, combination flights, rapid decompression, oxygen equipment use, and emergency procedures.
Student Stations
The main (and R/D compartments if purchased) are equipped with student stations. The trainees sit on seat assemblies along the walls on each side of the chamber interior. All seat assemblies are specially upholstered to be compatible in an oxygen-enriched environment. Consoles are mounted between the student seats. Each console accommodates two trainees sitting side by side and contains intercom cord sets, and oxygen pressure gauge, Oxygen on/off control.

Compression/Decompression Performance
The main compartment is capable of being evacuated to any pressure altitude equivalent up to 100,000 feet at a rates of up to 5,000 ft/min. The leakage rate when all valves and outer doors are closed does not exceed 50 feet per minute at 25,000 feet. ETC will size the vacuum system to meet customer specifications.
Safety
ETC's hypobaric chambers are designed and built with many of the safety features of PVHO-1, "Safety Standards for Pressures Vessels for Human Occupancy", "man-rating" and "oxygen enriched atmosphere" capability.
Note: Full PVHO-1 compliance design and manufacture are available as an option. |
