The GYROLAB Advanced Spatial Disorientation Trainer (ASDT) is a state-of-the-art, interactive training system based on ETC's expertise and customer feedback from fourteen (14) GYROLAB Spatial Disorientation Trainers placed into service since 1982.
In the GYROLAB ASDT's simulated aircraft flight environment, trainees learn to rely on their flight instruments and maintain control while ignoring the false information that their senses

of orientation are providing. Interactive learning profiles and closed-loop flight controls allow the trainee to practice control actions and demonstrate improved performance.
The GYROLAB ASDT can simulate the in-flight stimulation of the visual, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems that can cause pilots to become disoriented while flying. In addition to supporting normal flight training, it can simulate twenty (20) fixed wing and ten (10) rotary wing spatial disorientation illusions. The GYROLAB ASDT has the unique capability to provide controlled, sustained G-stimulation with its planetary axis, and ±360 degree rotation in the yaw, pitch and roll axes. These capabilities also make the GYROLAB ASDT a powerful tool for upset recovery training, situational awareness training, research and motion sickness desensitization.
The GYROLAB ASDT is designed to keep pace with changing training needs throughout its 25-year design life. The Interactive Profile Editor allows instructors to change any existing training profiles or create new training profiles as their training needs dictate. The Interactive Profile Editor features a familiar and easy to use Windows based Graphic User Interface (GUI).
The GYROLAB ASDT's combination of a state of the art motion system, leading edge computer and software architecture, and ETC's powerful Interactive Profile Editor makes it the world's standard of excellence in aviation and space training.
