SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., June 17, 2011 — The NASTAR® Center, a premier commercial aerospace training and research center, is hosting one-day seminars on the importance of Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) from mid-June through August. Seminars will provide corporate and private pilots with the latest industry knowledge, techniques, and simulated upset flight experiences on the newest in flight simulation technology, the GL-4000.
Limited complimentary seminars are available on a first come, first serve basis. The highlight of each seminar is the opportunity for pilots to be the first to test fly and evaluate the GYROLAB® 4000 simulator – a revolutionary new devices that enables pilots to experience real-world upset scenarios, with full g-forces in extreme unusual attitudes, while in a safe and controlled environment.
Those that register will experience Loss of Control in Flight (LOC-I) and additional in-flight challenges, practice recovery techniques and emergency procedures, and learn about the latest industry UPRT initiatives and training practices. Additionally, participants will receive a tour of the NASTAR facility and gain information on other aviation courses (SD/SA, Altitude Physiology, etc.) that NASTAR Center provides.
The GYROLAB 4000 is unlike simulators used in most pilot training programs available today. Manufactured and built by the Environmental Tectonics Corporation (ETC), the GL-4000 simulator is a high performance centrifuge based motion system and utilizes ETC’s patented G-Pointing® motion algorithms to deliver the most realistic and dynamic flight environments.
LOC-I has been a major factor in aviation fatalities for commercial, corporate, and general aviation for a number of years. NASTAR Center’s UPRT programs provide pilots with the knowledge and skills to successfully contend with aircraft upsets. These seminars will allow pilots to have valuable hands on experience and discuss important aspects of UPRT.
The seminars are available to anyone interested; however simulated flights in the GYROLAB 4000 are only available for current pilots ages 18 and older with a valid FAA Class 3 Medical. Seminars will be held at the NASTAR Center, 125 James Way, Southampton, PA 18966 USA.
