EXPLORING THE MOON

During the one-day workshop, teachers will learn about our nearest neighbor in space.  Activities include demonstrating the phases of the Moon using cookies; making craters using flour, cocoa powder and marbles; and attempting to land a marble on the Moon. Other topics include theories about how the Moon was formed, composition of lunar material, and the spacecraft that we’ve used to explore Earth’s natural satellite.


Duration: 1 Day


Prerequisites
• Desire to have fun while learning
• Trainees are expected to be in good health and capable of taking part in all activities
