ABOUT US

ETC’s National AeroSpace Training And Research (NASTAR®) Center, est. 2007 is a world-class facility that combines state-of-the-art simulation equipment and training courseware to support the training, research, and educational needs of the aerospace industry. Its mission is to understand and improve the health and safety of humans in extreme environments.

The NASTAR Center is unique in that it serves as the only commercial-use facility for the application of acceleration and G force exposure in the world. Backed by 41 years of aerospace technology and aeromedical expertise in 87 countries around the globe from parent company Environmental Tectonics Corporation (ETC), the NASTAR Center creates high-fidelity aerospace training, research and educational experiences for people everywhere.

The NASTAR Center is regarded as being one of the only locations worldwide to provide sustained hyper and hypo gravity for both human and payload research testing. Used extensively in human performance aeromedical studies, the high-performance “Phoenix” centrifuge is capable of replicating the flight profile of any given air/spacecraft including rapid onset accelerations, periods of reduced G (microgravity), vibrations and inverted orientations (360° pitch, roll) and is outfitted with interchangeable cockpit or cabin modules that can range from partial to full fidelity to accommodate client needs.

In addition to training and research, ETC’s NASTAR Center also features a public education and tourism component for visitors of all ages. All education programming include hands-on, interactive lessons that incorporate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) based learning objectives.
